About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging, and well-qualified French Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Wakefield. This full-time position begins in August 2025 and offers the opportunity to work in a setting where language learning is highly valued and modern foreign languages are embedded in the school culture.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and familiarity with national curriculum expectations
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging French lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Deliver creative schemes of work aligned to national standards
  • Assess and track student progress effectively
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture
  • Support student's individual learning needs
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams
  • Participate in departmental planning and evaluation
  • Contribute to wider school initiatives and extra-curricular clubs
  • Maintain accurate student records and reports
  • Encourage high expectations in learning and behaviour
