Specialist Mentor ASC

Reading

£28 per hour + £3.38 accrued holiday pay

As part of the eligibility criteria for this role, we require candidates to have completed the relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules.

If you have not yet completed these modules, don't worry - we are happy to support you in obtaining them. You will be provided with direct access to the required training materials. The training costs approximately £180 (One time Payment), and successful completion is necessary prior to commencing the role.

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from the National Autistic Society, which can serve as a valuable addition to your professional profile. This certification is widely recognised and can strengthen your CV when applying for roles that support individuals with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions.

Job Summary

This role involves providing individualized academic support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLDs) and Autism. Responsibilities include developing personalized learning plans, guiding students in effective study techniques, assessing student progress, and collaborating with university staff.

Requirements

  • Completion of relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules (support provided if needed).
  • Passion for student success and immediate availability are crucial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing educational technologies.

Qualification/Education

Relevant experience and qualifications in education or a related field are preferred. Support with NAS training will be provided.

Experience

Experience working with students with autism and/or SPLDs is highly desirable, but not mandatory. Training will be provided.
