We are seeking two highly flexible Operatives to join our team in Gateshead.
The ideal candidates will be capable of performing a variety of tasks to ensure we consistently meet our safety, quality, and productivity targets.
What you'll be doing
- Construct pallets, shipping crates, and cases using a variety of pneumatic nail guns
- Operate a range of woodworking machinery for offloading timber, such as auto crosscut saws, beam saws, vertical bandsaws, rip saws, and other woodworking machines
- Pack a variety of items into crates and cases using hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic nail guns
- Assist with the loading and unloading of shipping containers
- Work offsite at customer premises, when required, to pack items into crates and cases
- Regularly and repetitively lift and handle in-process sawn timber manually
- Contribute to general labouring and housekeeping responsibilities
Who we're looking for
To apply, ideally, you should have experience working in a busy manufacturing environment, preferably with skills in using woodworking machines and tools. Training will be provided if necessary
We are looking for candidates who have an eye for detail, a can-do attitude, and are self-motivated and team-oriented. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week both onsite and offsite working as required.
A current driving license is desirable and a fork lift truck and crane license would also be advantageous.
