You will be a part of the Active Schools Network offering children the opportunity and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles from now into adulthood. Working 37 hours per week across multiple schools.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline

Responsibilities

The fundamental aim of the Active Schools Network is to offer children and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles, now and into adulthood. Active Schools Managers and Co-ordinators are responsible for developing an infrastructure to recruit, support and sustain a network of volunteers, coaches, leaders and teachers who in turn deliver physical activity and sport before, during and after school and in the wider community.

The Individual

We are looking for a motivated individual with extensive experience of working with children in sectors such as education, sport, health, leisure, or recreation. You will be passionate about the role of physical activity—including sport, play, health, and active travel—as a powerful tool for community development.

You will bring proven experience in leading and managing projects within the above sectors, along with a solid understanding of budgeting and reporting procedures. Your ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently will be essential, as will your skill in building and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues and partners.

We’re looking for someone who can contribute to the integration of Active Schools initiatives, helping to unify and strengthen our approach. You’ll be adaptable and enthusiastic in the face of change, and able to translate ideas into action to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Key attributes include:
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders across various organisations.
• A creative and engaging communication style, with the ability to present information in a compelling and accessible way.
• A proactive approach to overcoming challenges and removing barriers to success.
• The ability to build trust, delegate responsibility, and empower others.
• Proficiency in IT systems and digital tools relevant to the role.
• Demonstrated success in developing and delivering programmes and projects from concept through to implementation.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
