Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Connaught Special School is seeking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant to join its school. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with complex learning needs, making a lasting impact on their educational journey.

The Role

• The role would be to support the learning of all students across all ages who have significant learning difficulties, physical needs and, at times, challenging behaviours.
• We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate initiative, integrity, a willingness to learn and positive interaction with others to support the profound nature of our students' needs.
• The role will involve taking part in physical activities including swimming and supporting personal care for students.
• To support the teacher in delivering the personalised curriculum for students.


Connaught Special School:

• Connaught welcomes young people with a primary diagnosis of autism and coexisting conditions.
• Provides a stimulating environment where children can be safe and enjoy learning with a dedicated team of staff. Staff are our most important resource and we invest heavily in CPD based on individual needs
• Ensures that all our young people receive individual and personalised learning and support.
• Will provide up to 26 pupil places at a temporary site in Upton Cross Primary School in Newham. When opened at its new, permanent site on Royal Road, the school will have a capacity of 105 pupils.
