Summary

technical assistant | 6-month fixed term contract

at wagamama, we’ve been nourishing from bowl to soul since 1992. inspired by the buzz of japanese ramen bars, we serve up fresh asian food across over 165 uk restaurants, and we’re still growing

we’re looking for a technical assistant to join our food technical team. someone who’s curious, detail-driven, and excited by the world of food. this is a 6-month fixed term role, perfect for someone ready to get stuck in and start with us straight away

what you’ll be doing
you’ll play a key role in supporting our technical team day-to-day, helping make sure everything behind the scenes is just as nourishing as what we serve on the table

• handling supply chain complaints and following up with suppliers

• managing technical data and daily admin

• coordinating lab testing and sample requests

• checking product specs and raw material info

• making sure all our food safety and compliance reports are accurate + up to date

• helping verify allergen + nutritional info

• supporting with new product lines + keeping our standards high

what we’re looking for

• a food science or nutrition degree (or similar) is ideal

• at least one year in a technical assistant role

• strong knowledge of ingredients, legal compliance + food safety

• haccp level 2 minimum

• experience with gfsi accreditation, allergen management + nutrition regs

• familiar with horizon scanning, finn, rasff + digital data platforms

• confident with excel and database tools

• strong attention to detail, organised + good communicator

• someone who cares deeply about food, quality + doing things right
