Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Berkshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team which provide mental health care to the birthing population in the six localities of Berkshire. You will be a valued member of the Multidisciplinary team to interface across the service and our clients

As a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, you will primarily provide psychological therapy within the service, including ensuring evidence-based practice and delivery of recovery outcomes for our clients; supporting staff wellbeing and morale; and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective psychological therapy that is aligned with the Service and Trust core values.

You will work closely with a full range of multi-disciplinary professionals and supported by senior clinicians, you will be responsible for conducting high quality specialist psychological, psychotherapeutic, and psychometric assessments, case formulation and delivering safe and evidence based psychological interventions to service users. You will be proficient in conducting risk assessments, formulating effective in-treatment risk management plans, and working alongside other agencies where wider risk management is indicated.
• Clinical Assessment: Conduct specialist psychological, psychotherapeutic and psychometric assessments and develop a clear and detailed formulation of the service user’s presenting difficulties and/or the systemic issues present.
• Treatment Planning: In collaboration with service users, develop personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings and service user needs, in collaboration with service users, to support their recovery and improve quality of life.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver evidence based therapeutic interventions using a range of psychological techniques and modalities.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary team clinicians and multi-agency representatives to ensure the delivery of integrated and holistic client care.

The “must haves” for this role:

1. Must be registered and accredited with Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
2. Must have experience of working in evidence-based ways with services users presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the range of settings,
3. Must have experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment
4. Must be able to work flexibly around working patterns as required, and ability to travel independently between locations in Berkshire to fulfil the requirements and duties of the position
