An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and lead the cardiac team at Barts Heart Centre – one of Europe’s largest cardiovascular centres - at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced, high calibre pharmacist looking to develop their career, leadership as well as clinical skills to cardiovascular medicine at the Barts Heart Centre, working from St Bartholomew’s Hospital. You will work closely with medical and nursing staff on a wide range of medicines management matters and manage staff to optimise medicines use within the trust to patients with cardiovascular disease.
You should have extensive cardiology experience and have a clear vision of how you see the future of clinical pharmacy services within the speciality.

The post holder will carry out the full range of duties as Lead Clinical Pharmacist - Cardiac to deliver patient focused, quality care, based at one of the four main hospital sites.
To lead the Clinical Pharmacy service to Cardiology services in providing responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing within the networks to:
Optimise patient outcomes
Minimise adverse reactions
Improve medicines safety
The post also helps to deliver the broader Medicines Optimisation and Governance Strategy across the Trust. These outcomes will be achieved primarily through leadership of clinical staff, and the publication and implementation of guidelines and procedures to encourage best practice.
