Summary

Are you passionate about supporting people and preventing homelessness? We want you to help us tackle this in Basingstoke and Deane.

We are excited to be recruiting for a part time Prevention and Support Officer to join our well established team to make a difference to some of the most vulnerable residents in our local community.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent working knowledge of the welfare benefits system, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, along with knowledge of the Care Act 2014. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work pro-actively, flexibly and in a trauma informed way with vulnerable people who may have complex and varied needs in order to motivate and empower them and work to find creative solutions. Knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and experience of working in a housing and/or support environment is essential, along with the ability to liaise closely with partner agencies such as Adult and Children Social Care teams, Housing Associations and Care Coordinators.
