Summary
Job Title: Civils Supervisor (HV Substations)
Location: Cornwall
Contract Type: Contract - CIS
Contract Length: 6 month rolling (Hybrid)
Our client is looking for an experienced National Grid Certified Civils Supervisor with experience working on Civils for HV Substation builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of Civils workers in substation construction.
- Must understand how a substation is built from civil foundation, underground conduit and grounding, to steel etc.
- Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks to crew members.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality specifications.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel hours.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper procedures and techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field as they arise.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of construction activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience supervising civils work on HV substations (132kV and above preferred).
- Strong understanding of substation civils including reinforced concrete, cable troughs etc.
- SMSTS / SSSTS qualified
- 3-day First Aid certification
- Must have current National Grid Competent Persons (CP)
- Hold NSI 6 & 8 Tickets
- Full UK driving licence
