Summary

Educato Limited are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils on a 1:1, group and classroom basis. You will be working with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), speech and language difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). You will be based in a special educational needs school in the Oldham Area. You will also be working with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) children

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be working with a group of secondary age children who display behaviours that challenge, you will need to manage behaviour positively and support with emotional wellbeing. As SEN TA you will be expected to work on a full-time basis starting in September.

About the role:

· Support students with an ASC / autism diagnosis

· 1:1 work with students

· Some personal care may be required

· You will be working on a full time basis for the full academic year

The ideal candidate will:

· Be able to motivate and support students, helping students to stay focused and on task

· Be passionate about supporting students with special educational needs

· Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Have experience teaching pupils with special educational needs, or in mainstream settings

Qualifications:

· As a SEN TA you won't require a specific qualification but a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or a degree is highly desirable

· Will have an enhanced DBS (if you do not have one, we will be able to assist you in getting one)

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards.
