About the Role:
We are looking for a caring and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our Children’s Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service. As a values-led organisation, we are looking for someone who is both passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of the young people/children we support.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young people/children feel safe and valued. You will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care to help the young people/children in our care develop life skills, whilst promoting and supporting their emotional and physical wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day care and support for young people/children in line with their individual care plans.
· Build trusting relationships with young people/children, offering emotional support and guidance.
· Encourage positive behaviour and help young people/children develop social and life skills.
· Support young people/children with their education, hobbies and interests.
· Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the wellbeing of all the young people/children in our care.
· Assist with household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
· Work closely with colleagues, families and external agencies to provide consistent person-centred care tailored to the needs of each young person/child.
· Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
· Respond to safeguarding concerns and follow the Service’s policies and procedures.
Requirements:
·At least 6 months experience working as a Support Worker/HCA.
· Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
· Experience working with young people/children in a residential or similar setting (preferred).
· Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
· Empathy, patience and the ability to build positive relationships.
· Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and nights.
· Commitment to promoting the welfare and development of young people/people.
· A team player with excellent communication skills.
· A commitment to keep up to date with all relevant training and relevant policies and guidance.
