Reporting into the Director of Place, we are looking for a high-calibre Assistant Director for a varied and multi-layered opportunity which will deliver the vision for a world-class private/ public ecosystem for the next decade and beyond spanning a range of consolidated and interconnected developments including transport, housing, investments and levelling-up.
The successful individual will possess several years of planning, consulting or delivery expertise, with the ability to cultivate lasting relationships with both public and private sector leadership, and act as a player-coach with wider team members.
Key deliverables:
- Deliver strategies which support the overarching delivery of transformative projects
- Provide full-court financial and specialist expertise to drive project strategy, development and delivery
- Partner with government leaders in the masterplanning of projects
- Drive intelligence & data of programmes to inform policy and influence future investments and funding allocations
- Raise the bar in delivery matters from planning to construction and delivery
- Provide comprehensive - and at times mission-critical - advice to senior managers and political leaders, leadership, direction and development of staff within their portfolio to support the delivery of key objectives
- Ensure effective financial management in respect of all aspects of strategic developments, advising the Director where challenges exist
- Lead and motivate teams and to achieve excellent performance, acting as a positive role model for leadership behaviours
About you:
- A demonstrable track record of masterplanning and delivering strategic real estate, regeneration or high-profile transport projects either from a consultancy or developer background
- Experience in facing-off with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional stakeholders from public and private sectors
- Ability to persuade, influence and business partner at all levels
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic approaches and business plans within a complex operating environment
- Strong understanding of development of delivery models and measures of performance
