Position: Lunchtime OPAL Play Leader and Co-ordinator
Hours: Part-time, Term Time Only (10 hours a week, to include lunchtimes 11:30am – 1:30pm daily) flexibility if the work requires adapting hours.
Salary: NJC PayScale - scale 2
Location: Huntingdon Academy, Alfred Street Central, St Anns NG34AY
Contract Type: 1 year Fixed-term in the first instance possible extension after one year
Start Date: September 2025
Job Overview:
As the OPAL Play Leader and co-ordinator, you will be responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing high-quality, inclusive outdoor play during lunchtimes. Working closely with the senior leadership team and lunchtime play team, you will implement the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) approach across the school to enrich children's play experiences and support their physical, emotional, and social development. This role involves team coordination, ensuring safe and engaging play environments, and promoting a whole-school culture of purposeful, joyful play. It will also involve liaising with local businesses and the community to help source equipment, resources and support to further enhance the school provision.
