Join the Freemantles Premises Team as a Casual Building & Grounds Technician and make a real difference in our school environment.Freemantles School is a Specialist school based in Mayford Green, Woking, providing education provision for autistic children and young people aged 4 to 19 years. We have been expanding for a number of years and on our Mayford site we have a Primary School building and a new Secondary & FE School building. We are also running a new temporary satellite site for autistic infant children at the former Ripley CoE Infants School building. We are a continuing to take on new classes over the next couple of years.
An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Building & Grounds Technician to join our established Premises team at Freemantles. We're looking for someone practical, hardworking and confident, using their initiative to support the Site Manager in delivering project work and during peak school maintenance times. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have hands-on experience in building and grounds maintenance, and a track record of working on a variety of specialised buildings and grounds repairs, improvements and alterations. Maintenance DIY skills are required. Whilst you do not need to have worked in a school environment previously, an understanding of our specialist setting and/or education based maintenance requirements would be advantageous.The position is for up to a maximum of 36 hours per week. The hours will be paid on a timesheet basis at an hourly rate of £14.27* plus holiday pay (Surrey Grade PS5.2, £26,777 full time equivalent). * Note: 2025 Surrey Pay Award pending and may increase figures above.For more information, please contact our Site Manager via the school office to arrange a time to meet the Premises team and have a tour.
