Job summary: General architectural activities within one of our project teams
Location: Blackfriars office, P+W operates a hybrid working policy. Staff are required to attend the office a minimum of 2 days
per week
Key responsibilities
Project Input:
* Support the Project Leader or Project Architect for a particular work package or project
* Support involvement in all RIBA Plan of Work stages 0 - 7
* Be aware of any client initiatives, project processes, review and approval procedures, assisting in implementing them
* Be aware of the particular CAD or BIM Plan for the project and work in accordance.
* Be aware of the key documentation and management tools on the project.
* Assist in developing, coordinating and releasing various aspects of the design and key project documentation.
* Participate in relevant project design and progress meetings, workshops, reviews.
Design Input:
* Assist in developing design solutions
* Contribute to ensure that all architectural, structural, services installation, and other building elements are technically
coordinated throughout the design.
* Contribute to the preparation of presentation material.
* Contribute to the consideration of sustainability issues at an early stage for each project
Commercial Awareness:
* Be alert to commercial risks to the business and liaise with line management accordingly
* Be aware that there is a robust audit trail for key decisions, risk and opportunity, CDM design risks, changes to brief, scope,
programme, fee
Quality Control Awareness:
* Be aware of P+W's Quality Management System
Business Development:
* Be alert to business development opportunities and bring them to the attention of your line manager or Director
* Contribute to the presentation of design proposals, internally and externally
* Contribute to the preparation of bids and submissions for future work
* Attend industry events and conferences, promoting the services and values of the company
Knowledge, skills, qualities required:
* Technical knowledge and an ability to research and assimilate relevant information
* Good communication skills
* Good software skills as appropriate to the sector and team
