We are a supportive, family-owned civil engineering business delivering a range of highways and infrastructure projects through public sector frameworks. We are currently seeking a capable and motivated Site Agent to support the successful delivery of key schemes across the Eastern Highways Alliance (EHA) Framework in the Cambridge region.

The Role:

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for the on-site management and coordination of civil engineering works, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of highway and infrastructure projects. You will play a crucial role in site leadership, supporting the Project Manager in delivering works ranging from £3 million to £40 million, including both Design & Build and Build-only schemes.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading and supervising site operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards

  • Managing subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials on site

  • Coordinating with engineers, foremen, and commercial teams to ensure smooth site delivery

  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to maintain excellent working relationships

  • Maintaining accurate records and site documentation

  • Supporting programme delivery and reporting progress

  • Projects delivered through the Eastern Highways Alliance (EHA)

  • Covering multiple active and upcoming schemes across Essex and Cambridgeshire

  • Long-term, funded programme of civil infrastructure upgrades

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience as a Site Agent (or Sub Agent ready to step up) on civil engineering projects, ideally highways and infrastructure

  • Proven ability to manage site teams and subcontractors in a live construction environment

  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations, health and safety, and quality control

  • Experience within framework or public sector project delivery preferred

  • Flexible and hands-on, with a commitment to delivering to programme and spec

  • Based within 1 hour of Cambridge or willing to travel

Benefits:
  • £65,000 - £75,000 salary + Car allowance

  • Private medical cover

  • Supportive, family-run company culture with opportunities for progression
