Description
The role of Streetworks Compliance Inspector (Grade H - I) is a vital position within our organization, contributing significantly to the maintenance and integrity of our urban infrastructure. As a Streetworks Compliance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all streetworks activities comply with the relevant legislation, safety standards, and local policies. This position requires keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the regulations governing streetworks, including the New Roads and Street Works Act. You will play a pivotal role in inspecting, monitoring, and reporting on streetworks executed by various contractors and utility companies, ensuring that projects are completed without causing unnecessary disruption to the public or damage to existing infrastructure. Furthermore, you will be the point of contact for addressing any compliance issues or concerns raised by the public or other stakeholders. This role demands strong communication skills, as you will be required to liaise with internal teams, contractors, utility companies, and the public to ensure that all streetworks are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of streetworks to ensure compliance with safety standards and legislation.
Monitor ongoing streetworks projects and assess their adherence to approved plans and permits.
Collaborate with contractors, utility companies, and internal teams to resolve compliance issues promptly.
Compile detailed reports on inspection findings, including any violations or areas of concern.
Advise contractors and utility companies on best practices for streetworks to prevent compliance breaches.
Serve as a point of contact for public inquiries related to streetworks and address concerns effectively.
Participate in training and development initiatives to stay updated on industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience in streetworks compliance, inspection, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act and other relevant legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using inspection tools and technologies relevant to streetworks.
Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a similar discipline.
