Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Pastoral Case Worker to provide bespoke high quality support to a caseload of students who have encountered challenges which are creating a barrier to their progress and/or development. The position involves working closely with other colleagues holding the same position, the Pastoral and Support for Learning teams to effectively identify students in need of additional support, prepare and deliver a planned series of strategies to encourage the development of students’ resilience and wellbeing. The successful applicant would benefit from having a 1-2-1 meeting space within our highly regarded and recently refurbished Wellbeing Suite.

Applicants should be confident, articulate, empathetic and with a strong desire to equip young people with the necessary strategies and skills to achieve more than they dreamt possible. Being able to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with staff, students and parents/carers is essential. The successful candidate will be relentless and uncompromising in securing excellent outcomes for all students.

Applicants must have good personal levels of literacy and numeracy, lots of patience, and experience of and the ability to build positive relationships with young people who may be lacking in confidence about themselves or the skills they need in order to be successful.

Applicants should have an understanding of common SEMH issues which young people experience in secondary schools, experience and a proven track record of securing positive outcomes for every student.
