Summary
The posts come with a 50% FTE commitment to teaching. This will include delivering bedside and tutorial based teaching, providing mentorship and supervision of medical students. The successful applicants will be expected to pursue the certificate of Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice, at Edge Hill University. The posts include a commitment to funding and time to attend study days for this. The appointees will also take part in the general surgery on-call rota including night shifts and weekends, where applicable the post holder may be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The post holder will also be required to be available exceptionally for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in audit and quality improvement projects within the clinical departments.
