About the role
This post is responsible for maximising income collection for the Council for garages, recharges, former tenant arrears and any other debts as needed. Working within the Tenant Services team you will contribute positively to the delivery of a high-quality customer focused service and also work closely with other teams across the department e.g. Asset Management.
The postholder will primarily be responsible for monitoring and maintaining garage accounts and maximising the collection of other debts within the tenancy services team.
About you
You should be educated to GSCE level with grades A-C in Maths and English and have high quality verbal and written communication skills and experience of working with a range of client groups within the community. Working knowledge of Housing, landlord and tenant legislation, regulations, standards and core disciplines of work area is essential for this role. Experience of rent collection and arrears recovery is desirable as is demonstrable experience and commitment to tenant involvement and empowerment.
You must be an excellent communicator, be literate and ideally be able to use a range of Microsoft Office products and work specific software packages. There is a requirement for you to also be available as part of the council’s emergency planning arrangements subject to service requirements
