Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our office team at New Horizons Learning Centre, which is an all-through age school in Kingswood, with for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until August 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The successful applicant will be expected to work 3 hours daily (mornings, but the hours will can be flexible) and will ideally have experience of working in a school setting and be able to fulfil the essential requirements of the job description.

Alternative Provision (AP) administration will include:
• To co-ordinate all transport and provision for all AP students.
• To commit to being the first point of call for all AP providers to support AP
students.
• To support the parents / carers of AP students when any issues arise.
• To undertake twice annual risk assessment meetings with every AP provider.
• To collate all reports from AP providers, sharing with the leadership team as
appropriate.


Building positive relationships with parents and young people who are placed on Alternative Provision is essential.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of working with Arbor (school’s management system) and all Microsoft packages. You must have an excellent telephone manner and outstanding people skills, have attention to detail and work well under pressure.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a good level of general education normally evidenced by a minimum of 3
GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade C / (5) or above, or other
equivalents.
• Have effective written and verbal communication skills
• Have good ICT skills (familiarity with MS Office is essential & knowledge of
Arbor is desirable)
• Be able to build and maintain good relationships with pupils, parents, carers
and staff.
• Have experience of handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Have good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Be flexible to the demands of the role
• Be able to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour.
