Summary

An exciting position is available within the Business & Executive Support Team which provides a centrally led business support administrative function aligned to meet the requirements of Staffordshire County Council, and which fulfils the needs of the organisation as it evolves.

It is a fixed term role until 31 May 2026 to cover maternity leave.

Main Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and assistance to managers across the Business and Executive Support Team and wider Staffordshire County Council
  • Support a range of events for internal and multi-agency stakeholders
  • Accurately input and maintain internal systems including client based information system, training software, plus daily use of MS Office 365 packages
  • Completing a range of administrative and customer care tasks ensuring compliance with business processes and Service Level Agreements
  • Inbox maintenance, dealing with queries, signposting and taking appropriate action
  • Liaising with internal and external customers and developing good working relationships and engagement
  • Minuting of internal and external meetings face to face and via Microsoft Teams
The Ideal Candidate

The role requires flexibility to support the wider Business and Executive Support Service when required to meet priority demands and will enable you to develop your skills and experience a variety of work opportunities across the service.

We are looking for you to have: -

  • Administrative skills and experience to support the provision of a timely and high-quality Business Support service for Staffordshire County Council.
  • Ability to take accurate and concise minutes
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with our internal and external customers and administration teams to share best practise using digital solutions where appropriate to improve processes.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, and to manage changes at short notice.
  • Good IT skills with a knowledge of MS 365 software
  • Experience complying with relevant Information, Privacy and Data Security policies.
