This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist secondary school in North Manchester that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment where students are supported both academically and emotionally. With small class sizes, a strong pastoral system, and a dedicated staff team, the school offers a positive and collaborative working culture. This is a full-time role starting in September. It is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent depending on performance and fit within the team.


Your New Job

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will teach general science, with the opportunity to focus on your subject specialism, and will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning and develop confidence in their abilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality science lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to access the curriculum
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
  • Contributing to the wider school community and ethos

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, resilient, and flexible approach
