Summary
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives on the shop floor and knows how to get the best out of a team? If you’ve worked your way up in fabrication and want a role where your voice matters and your work makes a real difference—this is for you.
A long-standing, family-run engineering company based in Grantham, with around 50 dedicated employees and a close-knit culture. As the Fabrication Manager, you’ll take charge of a busy workshop, leading a team of 30 skilled professionals. You'll play a vital role in keeping projects on track, quality high, and morale even higher.
This is not a desk job. We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves, set the pace on the floor, and lead by example.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Running the day-to-day fabrication operations on the shop floor
• Leading, developing, and motivating a team of fabricators and production staff
• Quickly solving problems and keeping things moving
• Ensuring top-quality work goes out on time, every time
• Supporting training and skills development across the team
• Stepping in with hands-on fabrication work when needed
What We’re Looking For:
• A natural leader who’s earned their stripes on the shop floor
• Down-to-earth, approachable, and knows how to bring out the best in people
• Solid experience in fabrication, welding, or general manufacturing
• Comfortable with steelwork, CNC, or similar production processes
• Someone who prefers action over admin—but knows how to keep things organised too
You’ll Need:
• A practical background in fabrication—welding, sheet metal, machining, or similar
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control
• Experience managing people in a production environment
This is your chance to join a family business where your opinion counts. You'll have autonomy, respect, and the opportunity to put your stamp on how things are done.
