Summary
We are looking for a CT Colonoscopy Lead Radiographer to join our radiographic workforce.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the endoscopy and gastro teams at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The role is a leadership position within the CT outpatient department alongside endoscopy and gastro teams.
They will be mentoring and supporting a team of Radiographers undertaking CT Colonoscopies.
There will be a requirement to undertake virtual CT Colonoscopies, demonstrating exemplary patient care and attention to detail.
The post holder will be working closely and reporting to the CT outpatient lead Radiographer and Endoscopy lead Nurse/Practitioner.
There may be a requirement to work within the endoscopy/gastro suite and assist with the diagnostic referrals and appointment handling.
This role requires working cross-site & departments between Radiology and potentially Endoscopy.
The post holder will act as a link between endoscopy and colorectal services to improve pathway from referral to diagnostic phase.
This post holder will lead and assist on reducing waiting times from referral to colonography and referral to CTC diagnostic tests.

The post holder will be located within Radiology department, working alongside the lead Superintendent Radiographer to complete the CTC examinations and other CT scans as needed as part of the CT team.
There is potential to be located within the endoscopy and colorectal clinics. During these clinics they will triage and authorise referrals to CTC and support the Endoscopy department with running straight to test clinics. This will involve, discuss and administer bowel preparation for Endoscopy examinations and procedures.
Whilst in Radiology, they will be providing a high standard of radiographic services to Radiologists and patients.
Supervision of junior staff and students and deputising for the OP Lead Radiographers in their absence.
