Summary

Are you a passionate Drama specialist ready to take the lead in Performing Arts? A School in Dagenham is looking for a dedicated and creative Head of Faculty - Performing Arts (Drama specialism) to join their team from September 2025.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a TLR 1B, offering the chance to lead a growing Performing Arts faculty that values creativity, inclusivity, and student engagement. You'll oversee curriculum planning, staff development, and enrichment opportunities across Drama, Music, and Dance - with a focus on delivering exceptional Drama teaching.

You'll be joining a school that celebrates the arts as an essential part of the student experience. From school productions to cross-curricular performances, your leadership will help bring the curriculum to life and inspire young people to express themselves through performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Performing Arts faculty, with a focus on Drama


Oversee curriculum development, teaching, and assessment across Drama, Music, and Dance


Support, mentor, and develop teaching staff within the faculty


Direct and produce school performances, showcases, or productions


Promote creative learning and the role of the arts in the school community


Use data to monitor progress and drive attainment


Collaborate with SLT on whole-school initiatives and strategic priorities


Qualifications and Experience

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


Strong experience teaching Drama at KS3-KS4 (and ideally KS5)


Previous leadership experience or clear potential to lead a faculty


Ability to inspire and manage a team of creative practitioners


Excellent planning, communication, and organisational skills


A strong track record of student engagement and outcomes


Passion for the performing arts and commitment to inclusive education
