The Package



Temporary contract

36 hours per week (Nights - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9pm to 9am)

Salary of £23,609 pro rata

Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)

The Role – Housing Support Worker – Night Shifts



Working at Noddfa hostel in Colwyn Bay, you’ll support people with their housing needs and life skills in a person-centred, trauma informed way and contribute to the safe running of the hostel. This will involve:



Supporting service users with mental health and wellbeing, by encouraging healthy activities and lifestyles, and signposting to services

Assisting with claims for housing and associated benefits to support residents’ financial stability

Organising and managing a range of engaging activities to promote social inclusion

Playing a hands-on role in responding to incidents, completing room checks and ensuring properties are maintained

Maintaining accurate service user records and files

Performing regular security and fire safety checks





Our Requirements – Housing Support Worker



Ability to hold everyday conversations in Welsh or willingness to learn

Experience working in a client centred environment such as housing, care or similar (e.g., supporting individuals in reporting maintenance issues, making healthcare appointments, pursuing hobbies, securing training and employment, etc.)

Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable people

Good verbal and written communication skills

Hard working, with a positive ‘can do attitude’

At least have basic IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook



Although not essential, an awareness of issues and support needs connected to homelessness and awareness of fire safety and security systems would be highly advantageous. As would an awareness of specialist agencies, including drug, alcohol and mental health services.
