Summary
Are you an experienced and strategic Maths leader ready for whole-school impact? A School in Redbridge is seeking an outstanding Director of Mathematics and Numeracy to join their senior leadership team from September 2025.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a generous TLR 1C (£14,306), designed for a visionary leader who can shape the future of Maths education and champion numeracy across the curriculum. You'll lead a strong department, drive achievement in Maths at all key stages, and support the integration of numeracy into whole-school strategy.
You will be part of the extended SLT, contributing to whole-school leadership, school improvement priorities, and coaching other subject leads. Key Responsibilities
•
Lead the Maths faculty, overseeing curriculum, teaching, assessment, and outcomes
•
Develop and implement a whole-school numeracy strategy
•
Line manage and develop staff within the department
•
Drive attainment and progress in Maths at KS3-KS5
•
Collaborate with SLT on strategic planning and data analysis
•
Monitor teaching quality and lead on professional development
•
Ensure Maths is accessible, aspirational, and inclusive for all learners
Qualifications and Experience
•
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•
Proven experience leading a successful Maths department
•
Strong track record of improving outcomes and leading change
•
Deep understanding of curriculum design, data, and pedagogy
•
Experience working as part of senior or extended leadership
•
Excellent communication, coaching, and team leadership skills
•
A passion for mathematics and a commitment to educational excellence
