Summary

Human Resources, Culture & Assurance

This full-time role is available immediately on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

About the role

This is an exciting time to be working in HR at the University of Exeter; our people and the contribution we all make is central to the shared endeavours of our institutional Strategy 2030 which aims to deliver innovations for a world that is greener, fairer and healthier.

Leading our small HR Casework team, this post ensures that legislation, policy and best practice is embedded by coaching and advising on HR cases in relation to all areas of University employee relations policy and procedure. This position leads the work of the Casework team in their support of the formal stages of those processes. The Casework Manager will work closely with our HR Partnering and Advisory teams, our in-house Employment Legal Counsel and line managers from across the University.

Key to the success of this role is the development of a comprehensive approach to early resolution of conflicts in the workplace, and the Casework Manager will drive this concept and associated ways of working. Once established, this role will lead on supporting operational HR colleagues and managers to explore alternative dispute resolution and encourage early resolution in cases of workplace disagreements and grievances.
