The Team

The Research Office offers central professional support to all academic staff and postgraduate researchers in the university. You will be working in a small friendly team of research officers and academic staff.
The Role
The post holder will support the University’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 which is the assessment of the quality of research in the UK. The role will focus in particular on impact case study (ICS) development, where we demonstrate how our research benefits society.
The Research Officer will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of ICS, working closely with researchers to compile evidence to support the ICS, assist with drafting the ICS statements and be an authoritative source of support on the guidance for Engagement and Impact.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have a passion for research and in particular supporting our staff with excellent customer service. Prior knowledge of the REF would be beneficial but not essential.
