The Team

The Partnership and Student Opportunities Office role sits within the wider Student and Graduate Employability Team. You will work collaboratively with the Opportunities Co-ordinators to offer a range of opportunities for our students to build their employability skills both within the curriculum and extra curricular. You will also work with our Employability Consultants to embed work-related learning within all programmes.

The Role

This is an additional role within a newly formed team to help us to meet our objective of embedding partner engagement within all our programmes. You will work collaboratively to shape the employability journey of our students and graduates by developing impactful relationships with employer and organisation locally, nationally and internationally. Working with external partners you will source and create innovations projects, live briefs and challenges to support our mission to embed work-related learning within all programmes. You will also be responsible for establishing and nurturing new partnerships to enhance opportunities for work-related experiential learning, graduate employment, and placement year opportunities. This will involve collaboration with stakeholders at local, regional, national, and international levels. Additionally, you may engage with overseas university partners to develop pathways that support students undertaking study abroad experiences.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience of working with a wide range of stakeholder to develop partnerships. You will have excellent communication, relationship building and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with a range of audiences. You will be a team player but happy working independently, with the ability to priorities work to meet deadlines. You will have a good understanding of the issues affecting student employability and knowledge of regional, national and international labour market trends.

Flexible, hybrid working is available with some presence on our beautiful city centre York campus as determined by business need.

It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview and presentation. Further details will be provided if you are shortlisted for interview.
