Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate CSW - Senior Social Worker/Social Worker to join our team, focusing on Leaving Care and Children Looked After. This pivotal role offers an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals navigating their transition from care to independence. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and guidance to young people, ensuring their needs are met and their voices heard. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, fostering strong relationships with external agencies, caregivers, and, most importantly, the young people themselves. Your expertise will contribute to effective care planning, risk assessment, and the delivery of targeted interventions that promote well-being and resilience. You'll also engage in advocacy efforts, ensuring that young people's rights are upheld and that they receive the necessary resources to thrive. This position requires strong leadership qualities to mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of practices within the department. Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and create personalized support plans for young people in care.
Provide direct support and counseling to children and young adults in leaving care.
Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to care and support.
Monitor and review the progress of care plans, adapting strategies as necessary.
Advocate on behalf of young people to ensure they receive appropriate services and support.
Facilitate life skills training and employment readiness programs for young adults transitioning from care.
Supervise and mentor junior social workers and support staff, fostering professional development.
Document all casework accurately and maintain confidentiality in line with policy and legislation.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with a valid social work registration and relevant degree.
Significant experience in child welfare, particularly in leaving care and looked-after children's services.
Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to safeguarding and child protection.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and stakeholders.
Proven ability to assess needs, manage complex cases, and implement effective intervention strategies.
Experience in working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a genuine passion for supporting young people in care.

Pay Per Hour: £27.69
