The Team
Registry is responsible for academic and student administration at York St John University and works closely with all academic schools and other departments.
The role
We are looking to recruit a temporary Registry Adviser (14.5 hours per week) to work within the Assessment team in Registry for 14.5 hours a week to cover maternity leave within the team.
The working pattern is flexible, but the successful candidate must be available to work on Fridays.
The Assessment team supports all the work within the University associated with assessments, awards and progressions. Specifically, it is responsible for setting up assessment records, supporting assessment panels and boards (SAPs and SABs) and the University Assessment Board (UAB), examinations (including additional requirements), exceptional circumstances in relation to extensions and for ensuring that students’ progress through their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study.
Required skills and experience
Reporting to the Registry Manager – Assessment, you will have a broad range of administrative experience including dealing with enquiries and improving systems and processes. As well as having attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills, you will be customer-focused with a commitment to ensuring an excellent service experience for students and staff.
If you have a sound administrative background in higher education or similar organisations, with a strong customer focus, and a ‘can do’ attitude, we’d love to hear from you.
