£28,652 - £28,864 / £14.85 - £14.96 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited for the above post with Marine Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious enthusiastic individual who has a willingness to learn and the ability to work within a team and with your own initiative. You will also have a genuine interest in shore based electrical engineering.

This four-year apprenticeship will include full sponsorship for the SVQ level 3, NC in engineering maintenance (electrical) practice at Inverness College, pending allocation of a place on this course.

You should hold standard grade or National 5 qualifications in English, Maths and a Science related subject. Further Technical and / or Information Technology studies would be of benefit along with an understanding of the principles of Electrical Engineering.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to Level 1 Disclosure Scotland clearance.
