Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
31.25 hours per week, Part Time Fixed Term Term Time Only, 44.67 weeks per yearThe Headteacher and Governors of St Luke & St Philip's CofE Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Higher Learning Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and popular school.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to join our vibrant primary academy as we continue our journey towards outstanding. As a member of the Cidari Academy Trust we work alongside other schools to continue to raise standards whilst preserving a very distinctive Christian ethos.
The successful candidate will be working in class and covering management release time across the academy.
The successful candidate will:
Be an excellent HLTA, with previous whole class teaching and group work experience essential
Be able to model excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have a good understanding of how children learn and have high expectations for children's learning
Be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the children
Lead interventions for small groups of children in literacy and numeracy
Support children with SEND
Be committed to raising standards
Be able to liaise closely with teachers, support staff, parents and the wider community
Be enthusiastic, energetic, positive and approachable – with a good sense of humour!
Support and develop our aims and ethos built on Christian values

The right candidate will have:
The essential qualifications and experience as detailed in the person specification, including GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
Experience of working with children with SEND (preferably a wide range of needs)
A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
A can-do attitude.
A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
