Summary
School Caretaker / Site ManagerWe are offering a fixed term contract till December 2025. At this point, the role will be re-advertised to start January 2026 to also include onsite accommodation (Caretakers house) at a low rent.Start date: 21st July 2025Contract: Fixed-term until December 2025Salary: £30,189 per annumHoliday entitlement: 25 days per year, plus 8 days statutory bank holidayWorking hours: 36 hours per week (52 weeks per year) • Monday to Thursday: 7:00–9:15am & 1:00–6:00pm
• Friday: 7:00–9:15am & 1:15–6:00pm
We are seeking to appoint a committed and proactive Caretaker/Site Manager to join our school on a fixed-term contract until December 2025.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs, security, cleanliness, and overall management of the school site and buildings. Working closely with the School Business Manager and Headteacher, the Caretaker/Site Manager will ensure that the premises are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained at all times.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong practical and organisational skills, and can work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Requirements• Experience of working in a school or similar environment• Ability to identify and carry out repairs and general maintenance, including painting • Good communication skills • Well-organised, with strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines • Computer literate, with the ability to use email and WordWe are looking for a candidate who can: • Demonstrate experience and ‘DIY skills’ to identify, monitor and complete minor repairs, maintenance, and redecoration • Show awareness of moving and handling procedures and be physically capable of performing the manual tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, snow clearing) • Demonstrate sound knowledge of health & safety and hygiene procedures and precautions • Show awareness of statutory regulations, applying knowledge appropriately • Communicate effectively with staff, governors, pupils, contractors, and external users of the school premises
