Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

Electricity Transmission - We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?
We're looking for a Lead Civil Substation Designer to join our Transmission Networks team. You must have experience in CDAE for National Grid projects.

You'll and play a key role in shaping civil design solutions for substation projects from feasibility to commissioning. You'll collaborate with project teams, designers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient execution, providing constructability advice and overseeing temporary works designs.
Engage in bid development, tendering, and innovation projects, working alongside the Design Manager and Design Lead to drive success. Lead various civil engineering projects, from foundations and drainage to GIS buildings and steel structures. Ensure high-quality reports, calculations, and drawings, aligning with Client and national standards (BS/Eurocodes/ENA).

What you’ll bring

- Previous experience acting as Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) or Equivalent Role.
- Professional experience in design and analysis software using STAAD Pro, Tekla Tedds, Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD & Civil 3D, and Tekla Structural Designer
- Ability to challenge information presented and be prepared for the versatile nature of Civil Substation Design.
- Relevant Electricity Transmission & DistributionIndustry Experience.
- Experience in earthworks modelling and creating 3D models of a site to calculate cut and fill volumes and prepare for construction
