The role:

This is a unique and rare opportunity to join the Children’s Commissioning Team as a Brokerage Officer, the post holder will be responsible for commissioning a wide range of resources for Children’s Services, and other partners whilst ensuring that the relevant procures are followed.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of commissioning resources, working with partners and understand the compliance standards or have transferable skills that support the key activity detailed within the role profile. The role shall ensure that Children’s Services offer high quality and compliant services for children and families.

An understanding of the Children’s Services is desirable but not essential, alongside a desire to be successful in a post which crosses operational practice with the procurement of services. The ideal candidate will be highly efficient with excellent problem solving, communication and negotiation skills. They will be comfortable working in a busy environment with multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines, alongside building robust partnerships with partners and providers.

There will be a supportive management and learning environment where there will be opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills in the commissioning and social care sector.



Key criteria:

Highly efficient with excellent problem solving, communication and negotiation skills.
Comfortable working in a busy environment with multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines, alongside building robust partnerships with partners and providers.
A high level of effective communication skills both written and oral including the ability to produce concise and accurate records high level it, numerical, analytical, negotiating, communication and reasoning skills.
Ability to manage own workload, prioritising, problem solve and schedule work to meet timescales.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to their development.
Ability to be innovative and creative to inform service delivery and development
