Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support classroom instruction, facilitate engaging learning activities, and contribute to the overall educational experience of our pupils. Working closely with class teachers, you will help meet the diverse needs of our students and play an active role in promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting (desirable)
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young learners
• Is a good communicator and team player
• Shows initiative and flexibility in supporting the school’s needs
• Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Is supportive of the Catholic ethos of our school (welcoming applications from all backgrounds)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in the delivery of high-quality lessons and learning activities.
• Provide individual or small group assistance to reinforce learning objectives.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment for all pupils.
• Assist pupils with additional needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Monitor pupil progress and relay observations and feedback to teaching staff.
• Support classroom management and help with the organisation and preparation of learning resources.
• Take part in school events, activities, and wider school life as required.
