Summary
Job Purpose: To carry out internal cleaning of the Practice in accordance with established schedules, using materials and equipment provided and as recommended by manufacturers. To ensure all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Each team member is usually assigned specific areas of responsibility. Larger areas such as waiting rooms may be covered by two or more team members. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Vacuum carpets and mats throughout the premises Clean hard and soft floor surfaces using appropriate methods Clean and disinfect toilets and washroom facilities Clean kitchen areas including work surfaces and sinks Clean telephony and computer equipment, fixtures, fittings, and high-touch surfaces in line with cleaning schedules Collect and bag general waste for disposal in line with practice procedures Collect and bag clinical waste for disposal in accordance with infection control protocols Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and waste disposal bags Report faulty equipment or conditions requiring attention to the Practice Manager or relevant lead Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning materials, requesting replenishment when required Wash and disinfect waste bins as needed Follow all Health and Safety procedures, including safe use and storage of cleaning materials Record the cleaning of each area to maintain an auditable log Attend training sessions and complete required training relevant to the role
