Location: Small Heath, Birmingham (B10)
Pay: £455-£480 per week

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young learners as they transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1?
A warm and welcoming primary school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 team this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA to play a key role in helping pupils settle into more structured learning, while continuing to nurture their early development.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging whole class learning, whilst providing tailored support to pupils who are working below age-related expectations and those with additional needs. Your understanding of early years education will be essential in guiding students through this key stage transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students during their transition from EYFS to Year 1
- Assist with the delivery of whole class teaching alongside the teacher
- Provide targeted support for children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language needs
- Work with pupils who are working below age expectations to help them make progress
- Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent and effective support.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working in EYFS or Key Stage 1 settings.
- Experience supporting children with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
- Understanding of early childhood development and the EYFS-KS1 transition.
- Strong communication, patience, and a nurturing attitude.
- Previous experience working in a school environment is essential.
