Children's Support Worker – Residential Childcare
Salary: £26,000 + £50 per sleep in
Hours per week: 40 + 1 sleep in
Sector: Social Care / Children’s Residential Services
We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Children's Support Worker to join a caring team in a children’s residential care home. You’ll be supporting vulnerable children and young people with emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties, helping them develop life skills and build brighter futures.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential or support setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Empathetic, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting their wellbeing

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people in a safe and nurturing residential environment.
- Support with daily routines, including meals, education, personal care, and recreational activities.
- Build trusting relationships with young people, offering guidance, encouragement, and stability.
- Promote positive behaviour and help children develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals (e.g. social workers, teachers, therapists) to deliver individualised care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of observations, incidents, and progress.
