Summary

Are you passionate about health and wellbeing? Can you facilitate change and enable individuals to empower themselves to take control of their health and wellbeing? If so, Feel Good Suffolk is looking for you.

Feel Good Suffolk is an exciting collaboration across Suffolk with the aim of empowering clients to take control of their health and wellbeing with health improvement changes such as stopping smoking, managing weight, and increasing physical activity levels.

As a Feel Good Suffolk Advisor, you’ll receive and process referrals, undertake initial triage, plan and facilitate the delivery of interventions as one-to-one support, group sessions and drop-ins, based on the key themes of smoking cessation, physical activity, and adult weight management.

You’ll be based in Ipswich, providing support to adults by telephone, video call or face to face in community venues, on a one-to-one or group basis.

The post holder will have a strong understanding of health behaviours and experience of working with people to make positive changes to their lifestyle. The candidate will have experience of working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds with differing levels of needs and have knowledge on adult weight management, smoking cessation and physical activity.

The candidate will be organised and able to work under pressure to tight timescales over a period of time, and be a strong communicator with proven active listening skills.

Individuals with exercise delivery and/or smoking cessation backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous applicants need not apply.

Hours of work are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role requires flexibility to travel to venues across Ipswich, and on occasion Suffolk-wide, and the ability to work some evenings and weekends to meet service need.

DBS clearance is required for this role.

As well as a competitive salary, the Council offers Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) membership, subsidised parking for work and leisure, public transport discounts, free swimming and gym membership, cycle purchase scheme, learning and development opportunities, flexible working opportunities, wellbeing support, lifestyle benefits and the opportunity to work with great colleagues.
