Working arrangements: Part-time (2 x 17.5 hours per week), 24/7 including evenings, nights and weekends, Permanent, Five days from seven, Onsite working only

Indicative Shift Pattern:


1 x 17.5 hours, 5 days out of 7, 52 weeks (indicative pattern 6.00-9.30am, Monday to Friday)


1 x 17.5 hours, 5 days out of 7, 52 weeks (indicative pattern 7.00-10.30am, Monday to Friday)


The Role and Department


As General Services Assistant, you will deliver a range of services across University premises, ensuring the University is well maintained, welcoming and a pleasant environment for students, University employees and commercial customers. Your role will encompass three key areas of responsibility: basic maintenance/minor DIY tasks; a range of portering duties; and ad-hoc security.


The Estates and Facilities Directorate provides a number of essential services to Durham University and is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the infrastructure and building fabric of the various campuses.
