About the role

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small, close-knit team providing a valuable service to their wider colleagues who either has existing payroll experience or has the right skills and aptitude to learn.

As our Payroll and HR Co-ordinator you’ll be assisting with providing an effective payroll service to all of our Council employees and members, including salaries, allowances and overtime payments and answering internal and external payroll related queries.

As part of this you’ll also be assisting with accurate and timely payments to outside bodies such as HMRC, Unions, Warwickshire Council and Childcare vouchers.

Alongside your payroll duties you’ll also be supporting the wider HR team through activities such as collecting and monitoring sickness absence data, administering Learning & Development programmes and helping to ensure that internal training courses run smoothly.

About you

Ideally you’ll have experience of working in a payroll, finance or HR environment with a good level of experience using a HR & Payroll system, however if you have an aptitude for data, are able to work in a private and confidential manner and can work to deadlines and prioritise duties we can train and develop you within payroll.

You’ll also need to be able to work at pace with minimum supervision and be a great team-worker with excellent communication skills.
