Our DWP Digital teams are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

We're the UK's largest government department. The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

  • You know how to lead prototyping efforts, explore ideas and reduce risks. You choose the right level of detail for each situation and help teams make their design thinking visible and testable.
  • You're confident explaining design decisions to different audiences, including senior leaders, as well as supporting others to share their work with the wider community and build a collaborative design culture.
  • You're a strong advocate for inclusive and accessible design, making sure services meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Leading design work across teams and departments, you drive innovation and encourage other designers to grow and improve how design is done at scale.

You and your role

As a Senior Interaction Designer you'll be driving innovation, creating new UX/UI designs that are simpler, faster and easier to user, making DWP systems and services accessible to all.

You will make design choices based user data and user research, and create prototypes to test that your designs meet the needs of the end user.

We work in collaborative agile teams. You'll work alongside researchers, developers, product managers, architects and more to deliver services that really work for our users.

You'll also be part of a wider DWP design community where you share solutions and best practice, and access learning and development that helps you be at your best now and in your future career.
