The Role:
We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to work with the University Communications Manager to support the planning, production and delivery of the University’s Communications and Engagement Strategy, in line with the University’s strategic priorities.
The University of Portsmouth has developed an ambitious £500 million Estate Masterplan to be delivered over the next 10 to 15 years that aims to deliver a number of new, high quality buildings which will significantly enhance student experience and provide a modern environment for teaching, learning and research ambitions. These new developments will transform the University campus area as well as making a significant, positive impact on the City.
The Communications Coordinator (Estates and Campus Services) will support communication to students, staff and the wider community ensuring alignment of communications to support the delivery of this key element of the University’s strategy.
Ensure the University’s stakeholders have effective communication channels to meet the University’s business objectives of:
- clearly articulating the University’s strategic objectives for its estate masterplan and ensuring communications and access to information to enable effective working
- maintaining positive engagement through clear and appropriate communications activities
- using timely and proactive communications to ensure staff, students and the community are informed about the estate masterplan.
This appointment is a fixed term contract to 31 August 2026, or earlier return of substantive post-holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Hybrid working is available 2 days from home and 3 days in the office each week. Some evening and weekend working will be required but notice will be given in advance.
