We are a trailblazer school for the Emotionally Friendly School’s programme and a leader in positive mental health support. We believe in nurture, but have high expectations and standards of both behaviour and academic excellence. We are well-known for our passion and investment in sport and active learning and use our excellent outdoor spaces to support teaching, learning and pastoral support across the school.

The Governors are looking for someone who is, or who wants to become, an outstanding teacher, but who is dedicated to the holistic development of all of our children. Your professional growth and effectiveness are important to us and we will provide opportunities for you to become a highly effective practitioner.

We can offer you:

  • friendly, enthusiastic and respectful children who are eager to learn;

  • a school driven by the wellbeing of all members of the school community;

  • a dedicated and motivated staff team who strongly believe in team work and building positive relationships across the school.

  • leaders who are committed to staff development and children’s outcomes;

  • parents who are supportive of their children's education;

  • the strong support of established year teams;

  • an inclusive school with high standards of attainment and behaviour;

You will:

  • be committed to building mutually respectful, supportive and authentic relationships with children, staying calm under pressure and modelling emotional control at all times;

  • be an excellent practitioner with high standards of children’s behaviour, wellbeing and academic excellence;

  • inspire children to learn in new and exciting ways;

  • develop and maintain a positive attitude to your work, your colleagues and the whole school community;

  • use highly effective assessment for learning to improve and accelerate children's performance; be passionate about enabling good progress for every child;

  • be a strong, reflective practitioner who is dedicated to improving your own practice;

  • be an excellent team-player with good communication and inter-personal skills, who is generous in your support and commitment to the school;

We are interested in hearing from all candidates regardless of specialisms but would be very keen to attract someone who has a particular passion for one or more foundation subjects, a passion for sustainability or for sport and PE.
