Summary

This is a critical role within the University of South Wales (USW) IT Service, supporting the management of the delivery of a high-quality front-line support services (Desktop and Service Desk) to both students and staff. The successful candidate will supervise colleagues within a hybrid delivery service team, that is an integral part of a larger centralised service that provide day-to-day support, in the use of digital workplace and learning technologies. This service delivery will be for all digital services, user devices and products within the IT Services portfolio and accessed through a variety of routes (telephone, online, face-to-face, and remote support).



The role will also involve the effective delivery, continuous improvement analysis and resource management to contribute towards operational excellence from their team; this may extend to direct responsibility for defined service functions such as Switchboard, face-to-face location or project work package ownership. More widely there is an expectation that this role will participate in departmental and pan-USW departmental initiatives to improve student and staff experience.



On occasion, this role will deputise for the Team Lead in business partnering activity in building strong, collaborative relationships with departmental and faculty representatives that ensure current and future IT Service delivery meets business requirements and enables organisational needs.
